Google have announced a new API for Docs.  Previously announced at Google Cloud Next in 2018 and released as a limited preview the feature is now released to all developers.

The service exists as a REST API and is focussed on letting users created automated workflows with Google Docs.

In the below example, a job offer template is created in Google Docs – with data being pulled via Zapier to create a dynamic offer letter automatically.

The core functions of the API allow you to insert, delete, move, merge and format text, insert inline images and control lists and a lot more!

This opens up a whole new world of document creation and management for ‘no code’ developers or people working with Zapier automation.
